St Trinians - Original Painting of Mrs FrittonPrice: £3,500 | Size: Oil on board - 33" x 37" | Grade: Near Mint | Year: 1954
Note: This painting is a truly unique piece of British film history. The portrait shows Alastair Sim as Mrs Fritton, the ex headmistress of St Trinians and mother of the incumbent head mistress, Miss Fritton, also played by the inimitable Alastair Sim. Appearing above her desk in the original 1950's St Trinians films (The Belles of St Trinians and Blue Murder at St Trinians), it was copied and adapted to feature Rupert Everitt in the recent remakes as an homage to the original. Painted in oils on board, it was bought by the present owner at a charity event at Pinewood Studios in the 1980's and is in excellent condition.
