|St Trinians - Original Painting of Mrs Fritton
||Oil on board 33" x 37"
|Notes: This painting is a truly unique piece of British film history, even appearing on the BBC programme, Antiques Roadshow, (27th August 2020). The portrait shows Alastair Sim as Mrs Fritton, the ex headmistress of St Trinians and mother of the incumbent head mistress, Miss Fritton, also played by the inimitable Alastair Sim. This is the original painting that appeared above her desk in the original 1950's St Trinians films (The Belles of St Trinians and Blue Murder at St Trinians). Such was the significance, it was copied and adapted to feature Rupert Everitt in the recent remakes as an homage to the original. Painted in oils on board, it was bought by the present owner at a charity event at Pinewood Studios in the 1980's and is in excellent condition.
