|Star Wars (first mylar advance)
||US 1 sht - 27"X41"
|Notes: The super rare US mylar advance holds a unique position in Star Wars history because it was the very first poster to be sent out to cinemas prior to the release of the first Star Wars film in 1977. At this point, the film studio had no idea if the film would be a success at all, let alone the global phenomenon it has become. Very few were made and it was produced so early that the typeface of the Star Wars logo had not been finalised - it was changed for the second advance (printed on paper) and subsequent posters. The shiny mylar that it's made from is also very fragile meaning that only a tiny number have survived completely unscathed and almost all have ripples, dents or creases of some kind. This particular copy does have a some creases from use but it still presents well and, more importantly, it's still a very important piece of Star Wars history. Priced to sell, we're not aware of any other copies currently for sale at less than £3,000.
