Come Play With Me Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
Come Play With Me 1977 UK quad 40"x30" Fine/Near Mint on linen £395
Notes: This movie was a box office smash in the UK in the late 70s and early 80s starred the late, great British porn star, Mary Millington. A version of the film containing very steamy and explicit sex scenes was actually shot, but it never saw the light of day due to very extensive censorship. It is a fascinating piece of social history, though, and an important part of the Mary Millington legacy. This poster features artwork by Tom Chantrell and is from the film's first release, linen backed in excellent condition.

Moonraker (style A advance) Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
Moonraker (style A advance) 1979 US 1 sht 27"x41" Fine/Near Mint £225
Notes: Moonraker was the 11th film in the series and the fourth starring Roger Moore, "Moonraker" works very well for a number of reasons. As Ian Fleming's original novel (written in 1955) had become too dated to translate to the screen, the producers decided to capitalise on the sci-fi craze started by Star Wars, and so created a spectacular space-age adventure where James Bond himself journeys into outer space. Oscar nominated for effects and with a great cast, it has more comedy moments than any other of the Bond films but carried them off well. This is the rarer style A advance poster from the first release, rolled with light handing wear and presenting well.

2001: A Space Odyssey (Cinerama) 1968 US 40" x 60" Very Good/Fine on linen £1,995
Notes: The Cinerama version of the 40 x 60 is very rare as it was produced solely for Cinerama cinemas of which there were only about 100 in the USA (Cinerama was a ground breaking big screen format that was a forerunner of the current imax big screens). One of the rarest of all formats, I can only find a record of one other of these posters having come to the market in the last 20 years. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Starchild) Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
2001: A Space Odyssey (Starchild) 1968 US 30" x 40" Fine on linen £1,500
Notes: One of the rarest of all the posters produced for 2001: A Space Odyssey, this is from the first printing of the iconic starchild image from 1970 when they released the new 70mm print to cinemas while the 35mm print was still touring, two posters were created for the New York premiere of this release - the psychedelic eye design and the starchild. The eye design was printed in very small numbers. The starchild design was primarily printed up as a 1 sheet but only used for 'wilding' in New York - i.e. it was pasted up around town rather than at the cinemas, which meant that all those that were used were effectively destroyed, leaving a tiny number of survivors. The 30 x 40 cardstock poster that we have here today was also printed up in small numbers at this time and bears the original NSS number of 68/103 because this was still technically a continuation of the 1968 first release despit it being 1970. N.B. This starchild design then became the iconic main image used in most of the later re-releases in 1972, 1974 and thereafter. This particular poster has been overstamped with the NSS number of 72-38, showing that it was reused in 1972. This was not unusual, the more robust nature of the cardstock 30 x 40 poster meant that could be used over and over again.

This lenticular image was printed by Toppan (which were known for their fine lenses) in Japan, and was used in the Cinerama release of the film.
