Carry on Cleo (court exhibit) Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
Carry on Cleo (court exhibit) 1964 UK quad - 40"x30" Very Good/Fine on linen £4,995
Notes: This is the actual poster used as an exhibit in the court case brought by 20th Century Fox against the Carry on team at Anglo Amalgamated for plagiarism. The original design for 1964 Carry on Cleo was essentially a direct copy of the poster design for the 1963 blockbuster, Cleopatra, with the faces of Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Rex Harrison swapped for those of the Carry On gang. A great gag at the time but the US studio was not so amused and sued. Not surprisingly, the case was lost and all copies of the poster were duly pulped with the very small number that survived now becoming the holy grail for serious Carry On fans. This particular poster is not only one of those original survivors, it is also one of two posters used as exhibits in court at the trial itself and comes to us from the estate sale of the barrister involved (provenance provided). Mounted onto hardboard for the trial, it was only glued around the edges and corners, and the colours are still bright. It has now been linen backed and restored after many years in the store cupboard.

Carry on Screaming Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
Carry on Screaming 1966 UK quad - 40"x30" Fine on linen £1,650
Notes: Often hailed as the best of all the Carry On films, Carry On Screaming not only managed to continue in the vein of the previous films, it also managed to deliver a brilliant spoof on the British Hammer horror films. This is a super rare UK quad from the first release in 1966, linen backed in excellent condition. It has the usual minor retouching to the folds but is otherwise original and unrestored. This means that you can see evidence of a small border tear at the bottom but this does not detract from the overall presentation.

Notes: The film that took the porno movie business mainstream and changed the world forever. Bambi Woods looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. This poster is from the film's first release, folded as issued in excellent condition. Linen backed with moderate overall wear and tear, this example has more patina than most but still presents well and is priced at a significant discount to the usual price.

Moonraker Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Nominal size Condition Price
Moonraker 1979 Italian locandina 13"X27" Fine/Near Mint £60
Notes: Moonraker was the 11th film in the series and the fourth starring Roger Moore, "Moonraker" works very well for a number of reasons. As Ian Fleming's original novel (written in 1955) had become too dated to translate to the screen, the producers decided to capitalise on the sci-fi craze started by Star Wars, and so created a spectacular space-age adventure where James Bond himself journeys into outer space. Oscar nominated for effects and with a great cast, it has more comedy moments than any other of the Bond films but carried them off well. From the first release in Italy, folded with light wear only.
